Dr. Michelle Barhaghi is a native of Denver, Colorado. She completed her undergraduate education at New York’s Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating Cum Laude with majors in Biochemistry/Biophysics and Biology. She earned her medical degree at New York City’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and she completed her residency training at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and at Tulane University in New Orleans. She has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology internationally in New Zealand,South Africa and most recently at a Vesicovaginal Fistula prevention center in Jahun, Nigeria with Doctors Without Borders. After completing her international travel, Dr. Barhaghi returned to the U.S. to work for one year at a rural hospital along the Northwestern Oregon coast. Prior to relocating to Los Angeles, she worked in private practice in New York City.

 

During her medical studies at Mount Sinai, she developed her interest in Obstetrics and Gynecology while working directly with inner city residents of Manhattan and the South Bronx. She has continued a culturally-sensitive approach to the practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology throughout her globetrotting career. Her practice interests include a minimally invasive approach to common gynecological problems. In addition, she enjoys managing a wide variety of disorders including infertility, menstrual abnormalities, perimenopause/menopausal symptoms and general health maintenance. Dr. Barhaghi loves the field of obstetrics, especially enjoying the opportunity to guide women through their pregnancy journey. She firmly believes that pregnancy and birth are a normal, healthy process - not a disease; and aims to make this journey as pleasant as possible.

 

Dr. Barhaghi is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  Dr. Barhaghi is also double board certified in Integrative and Holistic Medicine
